At Magaliesberg Canopy TourĀ®, we believe that Responsible Tourism is an approach to the management of tourism aimed at maximising economic, social and environmental benefits for all. Through our Responsible Tourism Programme we strive to make our clients aware of environmental issues and how they can play a role in the protection of our natural resources and heritage. Our approach to Responsible Tourism aims to achieve the triple-bottom line outcomes of sustainable development, being economic growth, environmental integrity and social justice. Magaliesberg Canopy TourĀ® runs an environmental management programme with the purpose to play our role in the protection of our Natural Heritage, locally, nationally and internationally. Through various environmental management policies and programmes we strive to educate and bring awareness of environmental issues to our employees and clients alike.

Various environmental projects are being undertaken throughout the year and we currently run programs on:

  • Water Management
  • Biodiversity Management
  • Energy Management

We continuously support worldwide Environmental Awareness Programmes and strive to educate our employees, community and clients on such issues. We also focus on Social and Economic development among our employees and our local community, whereby our staff is actively involved in:

Endangered Wildlife Trust

The Endangered Wildlife Trust is a South African environmental organisation for the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems in southern Africa. Founded in 1973, the EWT implements conservation research and action programmes, supports biodiversity and ecosystem functioning and advocates the sustainable use of natural resources. EWT establishes dedicated working groups through which the objectives of the Trust can be achieved.
